[origin: EP0676540A1] the engine has at least 2 inlet valves (3) and an outlet valve (4) for each engine cylinder, with a common control element (9) used for throttling the flow through one of the inlet channels (1) and for throttling the flow at the outlet (8) of a feedback channel (6) between the outlet channel (4) and this inlet channel. Pref. the control element is provided by a rotary slider, which simultaneously throttles the gas flow volume through the main inlet channel and the gas flow volume through the outlet of the feedback channel. The rotation of the slider is controlled by a control device (13), in response to a number of monitored engine operating parameters. <IMAGE>
