[origin: JPH02169729A] PURPOSE: To provide a combing machine capable of performing a continuous operation by including a specific lap cutting device and a lap combining device between a lap winder supporting device and a combing tool and combining a rear end part with a front end part of a new lap. CONSTITUTION: This combing machine has a pair of transport rollers 9 and 11, and cutting devices 13-15 for forming lap rear end parts by cutting laps running to combing tools 1-6 and for forming second lap front end parts by cutting laps from new lap winders in a path of a lap 7 from supporting devices 9 and 10 of a lap winder 8 to the combing tools 1-6, and a combining device comprising a pair of press rollers 16 and 17 for combining the rear end part of the lap with a second lap front end part and a movable deflector element 19 for bending a rear end part of the lap and at least one end part of the second lap front end part.
