[origin: EP0678351A1] A tool (1) is claimed for mounting on a press and designed for forming a pulley blank (P) made up of a rim (J) completely cylindrical around a symmetrical axis (X) and a wheel disc (F). The tool comprises a punch (10) and a die bottom (20) able to be applied on the two opposite respective faces of the wheel disc. The punch has an outer radial surface (11) that is completely cylindrical around the symmetrical axis (X) situated at the inner radial side of the rim (J). An extraction ring (30) is mounted to slide on the punch (10), being able to come into contact with the free edge of the rim (J). A die (40) is mounted to slide on the die bottom (20) and has an inner radial surface (41) that is completely cylindrical around the symmetrical axis (X), able to cover the rim (J) and forming thus with the punch (10) an annular space with a width greater than the initial thickness of the rim (J). The method of using this tool in the fabrication of a multiple grooved pulley and the pulleys thus produced are also claimed. <IMAGE>
