Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0678600A2] A comber has rotating combining roller (1) with comb segment, a feed for strip fibre, clamping and pincer arrangement for holding the material in any required position, fixed comb and take-off device. Here an arrangement of the comber follows: Within an, upper (4), and lower (3), pincer set, trapping and feeding yarn skein, is a supply roller (5). A platen (6) presents fibre tuft (14) in a straight line running under a clamp point (19) and within the combing roller's outline curve (16), then peripheral to an upper pull-off roller (8), which with its moveable bow-shaped clamp (9) covering a third of its perimeter, aligns, and stretches the tuft. This roller swings between pincer set and drawing system plane (17) while, between roller and pincers, a fixed comb (7) moves in a tilted translation path towards the combing roller interior. The fixed comb, at insertion point in the stretched tuft (14) between tuft clamp point (19) and clamping device (9), forms an obtuse angle alpha , pref. 116 deg.. Between upper pull-off roller and drawing system plane (17) a fleece clamp (10), which follows a path towards the combining roller interior, forms a clamp line in its resting state with lower pull-off roller (11). On the comb roller outline curve (16) the lower and upper pull-off roller (8) form a clamp point at the level of the draw system plane. <IMAGE>
