Photographic Ag halide (AgX) material for medical radiography, suitable for high-speed processing consists of a base with AgX emulsion layers applied to both sides and opt. ancillary layers. The novelty is that at least one AgX emulsion layer contains lamellar, spherical and/or almost spherical AgX crystals and has the parameter: W = Ng/(Ns x Nm) > (0.50-(Ar/1000) Mg = the total no. of Ag crystals per unit area; Ns = the no. of elementary layers of the AgX emulsion layer; Nm = the max. possible no. of AgX crystals of the AgX emulsion layer that can be present in one elementary layer; Ar = the fraction of AgX in this AgX emulsion layer in wt.%. Also claimed is a method of producing images with this material.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein schnellverarbeitbares photographisches Aufzeichnungsmaterial für die medizinische Radiographie, das innerhalb von 30 bis 60 Sekunden in einer Filmentwicklungsmaschine verarbeitbar ist und sich dabei durch eine hohe Empfindlichkeit sowie sehr gute photographische und physikalische Eigenschaften auszeichnet. Es ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß für einen Parameter W gilt <IMAGE> größer als <IMAGE> mit der in der Beschreibung definierten Bedeutung der Formelzeichen. Desweiteren wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Bildern unter Verwendung solcher Aufzeichnungsmaterialien beschrieben.
