[origin: EP0678879A1] The rod holder consists of a body (33) and a cover (35) set on either side of an aperture (11) in the wall (9) of the transformer housing, containing the rod (7) with nuts (37,39) to hold the components together. The body and cover have guards (28) to limit their pivoting movement, and seals (57,57') for the transformer housing wall, and both body and cover are made from a plastic material such as butylene polyterephthalate or polyamide imide. The cover of the rod holder has a cylindrical cavity (45) equal in diameter to the aperture in the transformer housing wall, and the body has a cylindrical projection (59) which fits into the cavity and centres the two components in relation to the aperture. The upper end of the cover also has a cylindrical recess (49) which is sufficiently deep to receive at least one locking washer, esp. of copper/beryllium. <IMAGE>
