[origin: EP0678885A1] An electrical switching unit has a number of contact operating elements (6, 7), each with an elastomer cap, mounted on a circuit board (5). This fits into a base frame (2). Operation of the contact elements is provided by rocker panels (12) mounted in a frame (8). The panels are mounted in parallel and a top frame (22) fits around them. Each of the rocker panel elements is formed with location digs (16) that fit into guide slots in the frame. When operated upon by finger pressure, each rocker panel pivots about a centre section (18). <IMAGE>
