Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0678939A1] The plug is inserted between the mains supply socket and the supply lead plug of the appliance and incorporates a main converter circuit for an additional function, eg battery charging. The plug pins (1) are directly coupled to contact sleeves (2) within the plug housing (4), cooperating with the pins of the supply lead plug. The plug housing has a recess (9) on the opposite side to the plug pins, for receiving the supply lead plug, with bores (14) in the recess base (13) aligned with the contact sleeves, the outside of the housing having a charging terminal for connection to the electrical appliance, to allow re-charging of its opening battery. <IMAGE>
