The tool (1) has at least one base body (2) and/or at least one work component (3-6) which comes in processing engagement with the material. At least one component on a work side (7) turned away from a rear side (8) has a work surface (10). At least one work component is fixable in relation to the base body and/or at least one further work component in at least two different positions. A grain direction formation (34) is imparted to the tool and at least one work component is adjustable in this direction. Pref. at least one work component with interengaging securing surfaces (13,17) is steplessly adjustable and is fixable in each position. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Querrill-Werkzeug (1) sind die Rillstege (9) in Laufrichtung (34) stufenlos gegenüber dem Grundkörper (2) verstellbar und in jeder eingestellten Lage starr festsetzbar, wofür Gleitführungen (35) und Spannmittel (20) vorgesehen sind. Benachbart zu mindestens einem verstellbaren Arbeitsglied (3, 4) kann auch ein nicht verstellbares Arbeitsglied (5, 6), z.B. ein weiteres Rillwerkzeug (5) und/oder ein Auswucht-Gewicht (6) vorgesehen sein. Da die Arbeitsglieder (3 bis 6) auch auswechselbar sind, ergeben sich zahlreiche Möglichkeiten zur Umrüstung des Werkzeuges (1). <IMAGE>
