[origin: EP0679740A1] A textile machine has a feed table (2) on which a sliver layer (V) is built up by several superimposed sliver layers (V1,V2,V3) supplied from successive drafting systems (S1-S3). The axes of the drafting system rollers (V) are perpendicular to the feed direction (T). At least the drafting systems (S1, S2) under which material (V3,V2) from a neighbouring drafting system (S2, S3) is taken are supported from only one side of the sliver layers. <IMAGE>
