[origin: EP0679842A1] The rear of the fan oven has an intake grille (4) for the circulating fan. A spacer plate (5) is positioned at a set spacing in front of the grille to control the airflow into the fan space. The grille has a pattern of vents and provides an air path which removes any grease particles onto the rear of the oven. The spacer plate is held off the rear wall of the oven by support tags (7) bent out of the spacer plate. Other spacer tags (8) bent out of the plate control the gap between the plate and the oven wall. The spacer plate is enamelled or is coated with a catalytic layer and its vents have shaped edges to deflect grease particles. <IMAGE>
