Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0679956A1] This invention provides organic polysiloxanes suitable for use in coating agents in order to manufacture eletrophotography carrier particles with a superior endurance. The coating agents for the electrophotography carriers are characterized by having the organopolysiloxane expressed by the general formula below: <MATH> wherein R<1> is an organic group with 1 to 12 carbon atoms; R<2> is -CmH2m+1 as herein m >/= 3; R<3> is -CnH2n+1 as herein n is either 1 or 2; R<4> is in each case a hydrogen atom or group expressed by formulae (1) and (2) below; and subscripts a, b, c, and d are numbers which satisfy the following conditions of 0.5 < a < 2, 0 < b </= 3, 0 < c </= 3, 0 < d </= 0.5 and 0.5 < a+b+c+d </= 4. <CHEM> and <CHEM> R<5> in the above formulae (1) and (2) is an organic group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms and x in the formula (1) satisfies 1 </= x </= 2.
