Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9514595A1] The invention concerns a hydraulic brake system which has a two-circuit emergency braking pressure source (6) that may be set into operation by means of a pedal (3), wheel brakes (8, 11) that may be supplied with hydraulic medium by said emergency braking pressure source (6) through emergency brake main lines (12, 13), a power-brake device (22) with a power source (23) and at least one valve arrangement (37-40, 37a, 37c) arranged between the power source (23) and at least one of the wheel brakes. Braking pressures may be generated as well as lowered by said valve arrangement (37-40, 37a, 37b, 37c) by means of the hydraulic medium supplied by the power source (23). At least one valve arrangement (29, 29a, 30, 30a) is mounted between the emergency braking pressure source (6) and the wheel brakes (8-11) for connecting the emergency braking power source (6) to the weel brakes (8-11) in the emergency braking mode and for separating the emergency braking power source (6) from the wheel brakes (8, 11) in the power-braking mode. In the power-braking mode, this valve arrangement (29, 29a, 30, 30a) lets the hydraulic medium to be discharged from the wheel brakes (8, 11) escape through emergency brake main lines (12, 13) and a return line (59) into a reservoir (7) of the emergency braking pressure source (6). This valve arrangement (29, 29a, 30, 30a) may be controlled with little control power and is thus economic. This vehicle braking system is suitable for motor vehicles.
