[origin: EP0680883A1] The system has a conveyor (5) which allows individual items (A), e.g. sweets, to be fed to a reception container (B). The conveyor is provided with a number of collection rails (21.1, 21.2, 21.3, 22.2, 22.3), defining adjacent collection paths for the individual items, of given capacity, for providing a group of identical items fed into the reception container. Pref. the items are fed on to the transport conveyor in transverse rows (R), which are spaced apart by relative acceleration in the feed direction during transfer to the conveyor. <IMAGE>
