Abstract (en)
Process for winding endless yarn (6) on spools (9) with continuous spool changing entails: thread supply and winding on a spool (9) driven by a roller (2), traversing the thread along the spool axis and separating the drive roller from the full spool when its drive is substituted by a different drive and winding resumed in the spool mid region. Also included is the rotation of a separately driven empty tube (18) till it contacts the drive roller and thread, braking the full spool, catching the running thread by the tube, bursting thread between tube and spool and formation of a breaking winding (14) in the empty tube mid region. Then the running thread is re-positioned to the tube border region to form a reserve (15) over the traversing range, displacement of the finished break winding to the reserve track, restoring the running thread on the traversing unit for formation of the spool body and changing of full spool for new tube. Appts. for implementation of the process comprises a yarn supply (7), yarn guide (8), a traversing unit (1), a drive roller (2) moveable also perpendicularly w.r.t. its axis, at least two spool holders (3,4) to take spools (9) or tubes (18) each connected to a unit (5) for the interchange of spool and tube positions. Also included is a guide unit for displacing the break thread on its tube till this can be brought into contact with the drive roller and the yarn guide raises the incoming yarn from the traversing unit and moves sideways w.r.t. the tube. <IMAGE>
