Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0681062A2] The installation is for underground renovation of a ballast bed of a rail track (9) and has a machine frame (4) supported on a rail under-carriage (8) and having a track lifting device together with a height-adjustable clearance device for removal of ballast from beneath the track. A conveyor belt is provided for conveyance of level silicate sand. The machine frame supported on the track by a rail under-carriage is connected with clearance devices (5) spaced apart in the machine longitudinal direction and height-adjustable independently of one another. The clearance device arranged at the front in the work direction is used for removal of the upper layers of the ballast bed and the successive rear clearance device is formed for the raising of the residual ballast and of an adjoining earth level. <IMAGE>
