Abstract (en)
The hinge connects a manhole cover (2) to a frame (1) set in a road surface, and consists of at least two lugs (7) on the underside of the cover, one of which has a projection (8), and a vertical tongue (9) fixed to the frame. The tongue is inserted between the two lugs and held in place by a detachable hinge pin (3), while the frame has a notch (15) in it to receive the projection when the cover is raised, holding the cover in the open position. The cover is released again by lifting it before closing. Each of the lugs has a rounded corner (7a) which presses against the wall (10) of the frame as the cover is opened, and the frame has a recess (17) situated to the rear of the notch and providing room for the notch to move as the cover is opened and closed. The top of the tongue has a second notch (16) to engage with a U-shaped recess (18) in the cover when the latter is open. <IMAGE>

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'articulation d'un tampon sur un cadre. Le dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend deux oreilles (7) prévues sous le tampon (2) dont l'une est munie d'un ergot (8), une languette (9) verticalement solidaire d'une paroi (10, 14) du cadre (1) et maintenue entre les deux oreilles (7) par un axe d'articulation amovible (3), la paroi (10, 14) du cadre (1) comprenant une encoche (15) coopérant avec l'ergot (8) de façon qu'en position haute d'ouverture du tampon (2), l'ergot (8) tombe dans l'encoche (15) et verrouille le tampon (2) à cette position. L'invention trouve application à des ouvertures réalisées dans des chaussées. <IMAGE>
