The method involves a tube section loading station (2) in which a tube mounting (8) is arranged for receipt of a tube section (12) acting as housing for an exhaust gas catalyser. At a matching station (3), a tube mounting (1) loaded with the tube section is further transferred to the tube section loading station, in which the inner cross-sectional surface of the tube section is enlargeable or reducible. A press-in station is provided in which a packet (51) comprising a catalyser body and a locating mat wound in at least one position around its peripheral surface is pressed by a press piston into the tube section (12) taken over from the matching station. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Montage von Abgaskatalysatoren in Rohrbauweise. Bei solchen Abgaskatalysatoren wird ein aus einem Monolithen (36) und einer diesen umgebenden Lagerungsmatte (50) bestehendes Monolithenpaket (51) durch eine Einpreßvorrichtung in einen Rohrabschnitt (12) eingepreßt. Zur Ausschaltung der Querschnittsflächentoleranzen der Monolithen (36) wird vor dem Einpreßvorgang der Umfang der Monolithen bestimmt und der einem bestimmten Monolithen zugeordnete Rohrabschnitt entsprechend angepaßt, d.h. aufgeweitet oder verengt. <IMAGE>
