Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4302321C1] Tank (10) has the a waste water filter (16) provided at the base of the tank. One or more aeration elements (22) extend downwards from the underside of this filter, the elements having outlet pipes (24) for water which passes through filter. The aeration elements are provided with valves (28) which control the outlet flow of waste water, and an air supply pipe (26) leads into the elements. This pipe is arranged so that the air flows through the aeration elements and the filter as soon as the valves (28) are closed. A device (30) for removing sedimented particles and/or particles which have accumulated on the filter, is located above the filter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used esp. for removing phosphate-contg. particles from waste water, e.g. in sewage treatment plants. The effectiveness of the sewage treatment is improved and suspended particles are eliminated from the resulting waste water. The need for a separate phosphate-removal reactor tank is avoided.
