[origin: WO9516074A1] Devices for coating paper or cardboard webs with a metering system which contains a doctor blade (2) as the metering component are known. The doctor blade (2) is held by a bed (3) of elastic, preferably rubber-elastic, material fitted in an adjustable holder (5) and supported on the rear away from the doctor blade (2) by a pressure hose (6) extending transversely across the working width.
