[origin: WO9515425A1] The proposed cup hinge comprises a sole plate (1) for attachment to a furniture unit (7). The sole plate comprises a base plate (10) and a covering plate (11) and contains a horizontal slide (5) which is continuously adjustable in a direction perpendicular to the leading edge (2) of the furniture unit (7). The horizontal slide (5) enables a hinge arm (63, 86), connected via two articulated levers (80, 81) to a cup element (78), to be brought into position. This is done preferably with the assistance of a ratchet device (9, 40) which is acted on by a spring . The hinge arm contains an adapter unit (53, 87) which forms the actual connection with the horizontal slide (5). The hinge arm (63, 86) can be adjusted in relation to the adapter unit (53, 87) while remaining parallel to it.
