[origin: WO9516186A1] By varying the design and/or arrangement, this probe can take the form of a flow monitor and/or flow rate and/or volume flow and/or mass flow and/or density sensor. To this end, the probe (2), which can be inserted in the wall of a pipe (1) through which a fluid (3) flows, virtually perpendicularly to its longitudinally axis, has a metal outer tube (5) rigidly secured on one side to the pipe wall and immersed in the flowing fluid on the other side, which can be deflected by its force in the manner of a bending strip, the free end of said outer tube being sealed. The probe (2) also comprises a retaining plate (6) fitted at the free end of the outer tube (5) and an inner tube (11) rigidly secured in and spaced from the outer tube (5), having on at least one part of its outer surface an even number of electrodes (13, 14) arranged separately and symmetrically to a section plane containing the axis of the inner tube and forming capacitors with the outer tube.
