[origin: EP0683046A1] The assembly consists of two flanges (22,24) on the ends of a rigid supporting cylinder (10) and a roller with an outer wall (18) to support a print stereotype and an inner wall which is elastically deformable for at least part of its length to engage with the outer surface of the cylinder. The two walls (18,20) of the roller form an inner sealed chamber (26) which is connected through a valve (28) to a fluid source which is used to deform the inner wall and fix it to the cylinder. In a variant of the design the roller can have an inflatable envelope inside the sealed chamber. The roller itself is made from a composition material having at least one honeycomb layer and inner/outer resin layers. It can be made, for example, from resin containing glass, carbon or Kevlar (RTM) fibres. <IMAGE>
