Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9417927A2] A device (1) is disclosed for supplying a pourable, paste-like and/or gaseous substance (9) to an application site which extends in the longitudinal direction of the device and for applying the substance, in particular by means of a doctoring element (91, 92, 93), to an application surface (81) which extends over a large width along the application site. The flow of substance is supplied in three steps. In the first step (I), a connection duct (5) designed as a pipe, hose or the like gathers the substance, forms a centralised flow of substance and supplies it to the device. In a second step (II), the flow of substance is subdivided by a substance flow subdividing arrangement into a plurality of flowpaths uniformly distributed over the width of the application site. In a third step (III), a layer of substance having a homogeneous surface and a uniform thickness over the whole width of application is spread on the application surface.
