[origin: CA2156155A1] Light-coloured polyolesters can be produced by esterification of fatty acids or fatty acid glycerin esters in the presence of between 0.001 to 0.1 % by weight, based on the fatty acid, of lithium salts with polyols, after which the polyolesters are treated with bleaching agents in a known manner. The materials are suitable as plastics adjuvants.
