[origin: EP0684204A2] The vertical lift has two parallel, vertical tracks (2;3) and has, on the opposite sides, two pairs of drive wheels (4,5;6,7). Each pair of drive wheels running on differently shaped tracks is driven by its own drive motor (9,8) via, if necessary, a gear (9b,8b). The aligned drive shafts (12,13) of solely one pair of flush drive wheels (4;6) are fixed and pivot mounted on the lift, while the second pair of aligned drive shafts (14,15) is pivotally guided in guide rods (8a,9a) which are swivelled on the same pivot axle as the first pair of drive wheels. At least one guide rod is pre-stressed by a spring element to increase the compressive force of the drive wheels.
