[origin: DE4418413C1] During piecing of an open end spinning rotor the fibre feed is started but the fibres are prevented from being deposited in the rotor groove until the back feed of the piecing yarn has ended and the yarn is being drawn off for normal spinning. This is achieved by altering the suction pressure in the rotor housing and altering the position of the rotor cover (7) from a running position (I) to a starting position (II) without breaking the seal between the rotor cover (7) and the housing (60). No air is drawn through the fibre transport path and when the fibre feed is started the increased distance between rotor (4) and cover (7) and the altered suction pressure diverts the air stream over the rotor edge and takes the fibres out of the housing. Also claimed is the above method augmented by an auxiliary air jet from a duct (81) in the rotor cover.

In einer Offenend-Rotorspinnvorrichtung werden zur Vorbereitung des Anspinnvorganges zunächst in dem den Spinnrotor (4) aufnehmenden Gehäuse (60) der Unterdruck zur Wirkung und der Rotordeckel (7) aus seiner Betriebsstellung (I) in eine Faserabführstellung (II) gebracht, in welcher er vom Gehäuse abgehoben ist. Sodann wird die Faserspeisung eingeschaltet. Der hierdurch erzeugte Faserstrom wird zusammen mit dem die Fasern transportierenden Luftstrom umgelenkt und mit Hilfe des im Gehäuse (60) wirksamen Unterdruckes über den offenen Rotorrand (42) aus dem Rotorinneren und dem Gehäuse (60) abgeführt, bis zur Zuführung von Fasern zur Fasersammelrille (40) der Rotordeckel (7) wieder zurück in seine Betriebsstellung (I) gebracht wird. Zur Durchführung dieses Verfahrens sind dem Rotordeckel (7) eine steuerbare Öffnungsvorrichtung (91, 910 bis 915), die mit der den Anspinnvorgang steuernden Steuervorrichtung (92) in Verbindung steht und mit deren Hilfe der Rotordeckel (7) in eine Faserabführstellung (II) und in eine Betriebsstellung (I) bringbar ist, sowie eine Dichtung (32) zugeordnet, die in beiden Stellungen des Rotordeckels (7) für eine Abdichtung zwischen den beiden Teilen des Faserspeisekanals (30) sorgt.
