Abstract (en)
A knitting machine and a method of producing knitted fabrics are provided by means of which knitted fabrics can be produced on an industrial scale and having a comfortable feel similar to that of a hand-made knit. In the knitting machine (1), needles (30) are arranged around the outer circumference of a needle cylinder (34) with a distribution having a 1/f fluctuation. Hence, knitted fabrics (6) are produced in which the stitching pattern varies with a 1/f fluctuation across the width of the fabric (6).
