[origin: EP0684348A1] The invention relates to a panel provided with two cover plates (1,2) and with insulating material located between said cover plates. A layer (9) of a fire-retardant material is provided between the cover plates (1,2), which is arranged between two layers (7,8) of an insulating material. At least one of the cover plates (1,2) may be profiled, seen in its longitudinal direction, in such a manner that parts of the cover plate (1,2) are staggered with respect to each other in a direction perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the panel.
