[origin: WO9516891A1] The invention relates to a safety device for locking a striker for a fuse of a rotational projectile. The device according to the invention comprises a spiral spring (12) consisting of an elastic tape wound on itself and loaded by its elasticity around a locking member which maintains the striker (2) in a safety position, the device of the invention being characterized in that the locking member is comprised of a flexible band (9) wound around the striker (2) and of which the material or the geometry are such that it does not exert any elastic return effort onto the striker (2), the band having a length such that, upon firing, when it is unwound after the spiral spring (12) and applied against the latter due to the centrifugal force, the ends (9a, 9b) of the band overlap. Application to medium calibre ammunition.
