Stonewear or ceramic benchtop contains an edge as well as two surfaces, esp. parallel to each other. On the edge (8) there is an edge profile (10) with at least one back-grabbing slot (16, 24, 26) on its inside contg. a reaction cpd. mass (28). This is fixed to the edge (8) after the edge profile has been put in place, and is fixed securely to the edge. <IMAGE>

Eine Platte aus Steinzeug oder Keramik enthält einen Rand (8) sowie zwei insbesondere parallel zueinander angeordnete Oberflächen (4, 6). Diese Platte soll dahingehend weitergebildet werden, daß sie entsprechend den Erfordernissen mit einer Kante ausgerüstet werden kann. Es wird vorgeschlagen, daß am Rand (8) ein Kantenprofil (10) angeordnet ist, welches im Inneren wenigstens eine hintergriffige Ausnehmung (16, 24, 26) aufweist. Diese Ausnehmung (16, 24, 26) enthält eine Reaktions-Verbundmasse (28), welche nach dem Aufsetzen des Kantenprofils (10) auf den Rand (8) zu einem Formkörper verfestigt ist und mit dem Rand (8) fest verbunden ist. <IMAGE>
