Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0685575A1] The electrode array is used in the mercury-chloralkali cell, and is connected to rod or bar main conductors via current distributors. All conductors are generally flat sections laid vertically on edge and welded together, with clearance between them. The active electrodes (1,2) are large in number compared with the current distributors; their mutual clearance is at least 2 mm, and their lower edges, seen in section, have a downward-pointing wedge-shaped profile. <IMAGE>
