[origin: EP0685699A1] The heat exchanger comprises two fluid boxes (4) and several pairs of inserted bars (1a,1b). Several plates (2a,2b) are located in pairs to frame the bars and form with them chambers (3) in which a fluid circulates. Each fluid box comprises a manifold plate (8) having openings (9a) able to receive the end parts (C) of the pairs of bars and enable the free circulation of fluid between the chambers and the fluid boxes. Each bar has a central part (A) extending parallel to the plates' longitudinal edge which are extended by an angled part (B) allowing encasting in a manifold plate opening. The ends (5) of the plate pairs are folded down and fixed against the manifold plates, so that two opposite plates have their ends (5,5a) turned towards each other to form conduits (6) in which the air to be cooled can flow. <IMAGE>
