[origin: WO9518245A1] Following drying of the steel strip at the outlet of the zinc bath, the strip is rapidly heated to a temperature of 460-600 DEG C with a heating power density exceeding 180 kW/m<2> for each product face, for example by means of an induction oven at a frequency of 100-500 kHz. The band is held at a temperature substantially constant during a period of 10-30 seconds and is then rapidly cooled to a temperature of less than 420 DEG C with a cooling power density exceeding 100 kW/m<2> for each product face, for example by means of water/air spray nozzles.
