Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0686465A1] The square timber is heated to a temp. above the solidifying temp. of the liquate components of the wood. The wooden laminations are cut from the square timber in several steps in a chipless manner and then directly straightened by compression between flat press faces. At least up to the compression start, the lamination are kept at a temp. exceeding that of solidifying the liquate components. Before the compression end the laminations are cooled down to a temp. below the solidifying temp. A straightener (8), behind the cutter, comprises two flat, parallel press faces (9). <IMAGE>
