[origin: EP0686503A1] The fixing is for a stereotype with one or more print surfaces (8) attached to a backing sheet (2) with a hook-shaped strip (3) along one end to engage with a matching groove (6) in the surface of the cylinder, and tensioners (12) on the other end. The under-surface of the backing sheet has a wedge (4) which fits into an additional groove (5) of the same cross-section, situated adjacent to the hook-shaped groove and parallel to it. The wedge-shaped groove can be connected to the inside of the cylinder by a series of radial channels, while the cylinder's inner chamber can be connected to a vacuum source such as a pump which is connected to the cylinder by a rotary joint. <IMAGE>
