[origin: EP0686748A1] One at least of the halves has two parallel portions at right angles to the hinge axis, and the two fit together via bushes of bearing material requiring no maintenance. Passages (8,9) concentric to the hinge axis (5) are formed on each half (1,2), those on the one being of a different diameter to those on the other. These form mating male and female portions fitting one inside the other. One half can rest on the other via washers (10) of bearing material requiring no maintenance. The external diameter of the male portion can be sufficiently small than the internal diameter of the female one to avoid contact between them. <IMAGE>
