[origin: EP0686756A1] The valve drive has a control device to vary the valve opening angle. A cam (2) on a camshaft (3) operates a gas exchange valve (4) via a valve lever (5) acting with an intermediate roller (9) via an axis (7) of the camshaft. There is a control device (11) to synchronise the control cam by altering the angle. The valve drive has variable lift control (13) in the form of a valve lever (5) of variable transmission ratio. This lift control can be operated separately from the control device (11) for varying the valve opening angle. The valve lever has a concentric guide track (8) for an intermediate element. <IMAGE>
