A bistable relay has a pivot-mounted armature (4) that is hinged to a yoke (1) by a leaf spring (5)l The free end supports a rod (11) that operates a movable electrical contact (13). Mounted on the yoke is a core element in two parts (6, 6') separated by a permanent magnet (7) and having a size such that an air gap (20) is formed. The armature can be moved by a lower level power input coil (2). In one position the armature is held by the permanent magnet field. <IMAGE>

Bistabile elektrische Schaltvorrichtung mit einem aus einem Joch/Kern, einem Anker und mindestens einem Dauermagneten, sowie einer Steuerspule bestehenden Magnetsystem, bei dem der Anker mittels einer Ankerfeder an dem Kern gehalten ist und in einer Schaltstellung zwischen dem Anker und einer Polfläche des Joches/Kernes ein Luftspalt vorhanden ist und der Anker mit einem beweglichen Kontakt mechanisch gekoppelt ist. Damit bei abgefallenem Anker (4) nur geringe Kräfte auf diesen einwirken, ist vorgesehen, daß der Dauermagnet (7) im Joch (6) angeordnet ist. <IMAGE>
