[origin: EP0687426A1] The drive for the appliance is formed as a rotary drive which swivels at least two adjoining comb teeth (2) in opposite directions and with alternating rotary direction about the longitudinal axis. The comb teeth are movable in a rotary angle of less than 180 deg. about their longitudinal axis. The longitudinal edges of the teeth can be wavy on both sides. The teeth can be arranged on the spine (3) in a line at regular intervals from each other. The teeth can be connected rotationally secured to a gear wheel, friction wheel, eccentric wheel or similar which interact with a common counter drive member set on both sides of the rotary drive members. <IMAGE>
