Cosmetic (esp. eye) pencils have a pigment-contg. pencil lead and a separate source of semisolid or liq. solvent and/or lubricant (I) which can come into contact with the lead or the application surface (i.e. skin) only at the tip of the lead. Pref. (I) is present as an annular layer between the lead and the layer of (I), or is present in a reservoir at the rear end of the pencil, the reservoir being in communication with a capillary system, esp. in the form of a sleeve surrounding the lead or in the form of a separator between the lead and barrel in the case of propelling pencils. (I) is an oil, esp. a silicone oil, or is a volatile solvent or water.

Bei einem Stift, insbesondere Lidstift umfassend eine Mine mit Farbpigmenten ist zur Erzielung eines weichen, kontinuierlichen und definierten Auftrages bei vergleichsweise hoher mechanischer Festigkeit des eigentlichen Minenkörpers vorgesehen, daß ein weich-festes oder flüssiges Lösungs- und/oder Schmiermittel von der Mine getrennt ist und lediglich im Bereich der Minenspitze mit der Mine bzw. der Auftragsfläche in Kontakt bringbar ist.
