[origin: EP0687456A2] The bed has a double tent (3) with the inner tent (6) permeable to gas only in the diffusion direction. The fresh gas is delivered into the space (25) between it and the outer one (5) at the desired temperature and with the desired compostion. The stale gas is extracted from inside the inner tent by one or more suction pipes (31). Pressure between the tents is higher than that inside the inner tent, which in turn is higher than atmospheric. The outer tents can be joined at its bottom edge to the inner one by a frame (10-13), and pulled upwards by a suspension mechanism (8). The smaller inner one is suspended from the outer one so as to form the fresh-gas chamber between them. <IMAGE>
