The roller comprises an elastic layer (4) with a thickness of 5 to 70 mm, pref. 15 to 30 mm and having a thin flexible metal covering (5) on its outside. The metal covering is chromium, nickel or refined steel and has a thickness of 0.1 to 1.0 mm. The metal covering (5) is shrunk over the elastic layer. The exterior of the metal covering has a thin surface coating of hard material for example ceramic or titanium nitride. The elastic layer is made of soft or hard rubber or plastics with a Shore hardness of 10 to 100 Shore A. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Eine Walze für die Beschichtung oder den Farbauftrag auf Bändern, insbesondere Metallbändern in Bandbeschichtungs- oder Bandbedruckungsanlagen. Die Walze hat einen biegesteifen Grundkörper (1), auf dem eine elastische Schicht (4), vorzugsweise aus Gummi, Kautschuk oder Kunststoff, aufgebracht ist. Die elastische Schicht hat an ihrer Außenseite einen dünnen, biegsamen Metallüberzug (5), der eine Dicke von 0,1 bis 1,0 mm haben und aus Chrom, Nickel oder Edelstahl bestehen kann. Dieser Metallüberzug schützt die Walze an ihrer Oberfläche gegen chemische oder mechanische Beschädigungen, ist jedoch andererseits derart biegsam, daß sich die Walze mit ihrer Oberfläche an unebene Bandoberflächen unter mehr oder weniger starker Abplattung ihres Umfanges anschmiegen kann. <IMAGE>
