Abstract (en)
The cylinder shell segment, for a rotating flat card, is a longitudinal body with two plate sections. One section, in operation, has an inner surface towards the working zone of the card, and the other section acts as a stiffener. The two sections are linked together so that the bending forces through shear stresses are transferred from one section to the other. In operation, the segment surface acts as a fibre guide surface. <IMAGE>
