[origin: EP0687790A1] The linear connector has a transverse rib formation (6) which is provided on the surface of the elongated body (1). Each of the parallel side surfaces (11,12) of the elongated body has a series of side ribs (13). The transverse rib of the sharp edge brake is longer than the width of wedges (8,9). The side ribs extend over only a part of the total height (H) of the elongated body. The side ribs are only provided in the region of the brake created by the wedges and the transverse rib. <IMAGE>
