[origin: EP0687878A1] The cooling tower has an OD (DA) of the tubes forming the tube coil of less than 25 mm. The straight line tube sections (3a,3b) of the immediately adjacent tubes (2a,2b) have a mean vertical tube distribution (S2) and are formed from tube centre to tube centre with between one and two times the OD. The vertical distance from tube centre to tube centre of the tube sections (3a,3b) corresponds to double the vertical tube distribution (S2). <IMAGE>
