[origin: FR2721387A1] The loading mechanism comprises a setter (1), a loader (2) and a lock (3) which operate successively, with the loader and lock rotating together with the setter. The setter performs two rotary movements - one to position the shell in line with the axis of the breech chamber and the other to position the lock, and the mechanism incorporates a rotary element (11) which provides for the two rotary movements to be made about a single axis of rotation while co-operating with a stop system (7,9). The stop system can be set in two positions - an active position in which the setter is halted at the end of its first rotary movement, and an inactive position in which it has no effect on the rotation of the setter. It comprises a first lever (7) which slides lengthwise relative to the rotary element, and a stop lever (9) which interacts with a peg (12) and shock-absorber (10).
