[origin: FR2721390A1] The attachment consists of a shell (7) which surrounds the barrel at a distance from it and is the same length as the barrel's projecting section. It comprises a front ring (6) which is fixed to the barrel close to its free end and a rear ring connected to the barrel on a level with its smoke box, and is made from a series of semi-cylindrical sections (8a,8b) assembled by means of connectors. The front and rear (5) rings have grooves (24,28) to receive the semi-cylindrical sections, and each of the connectors is in the form of an H-section bar. Each semi-cylindrical section has an outer (12a) and/or an inner (19) reinforcing element; the outer one has an omega-shaped cross-section, and the inner one a T-section. Holes (13) in the semi-cylindrical sections allow air circulation between the barrel and attachment.

Manchon anti-arcure pour tube (1) d'artillerie de gros calibre, constitué d'une enveloppe (7), entourant à distance le tube et dont la longueur est sensiblement égale à celle de la partie émergente du tube, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une bague avant (6) fixée au voisinage de l'extrémité libre du tube (1) et une bague arrière (5) fixée au niveau de la boîte à fumée (2) du tube, et en ce que l'enveloppe se présente sous la forme de deux demi-coquilles (8, 9) assemblées par un moyen de connexion (10).
