[origin: WO9501841A1] A partial stream of the suspension fed into the rising channels (5) via the feed pipe (19) and the inlet chamber (7) is continuously drawn off via the outlet apertures (8), the channel sections (12) and the skimmer (15). At very high concentrations of the solid phase extracted via the outlet channels (3), the solid particles collecting in the solid chamber (2) reach the rising channels (5). These solid particles are conducted out of the plate insert (4) by the partial stream so that the degree of clarity of the plate set is not affected by these solid particles. It is thus possible with the centrifugal drum (1) to obtain very high solid concentrations without adversely affecting the clarified suspension.
