[origin: EP0688952A1] The appliance has a swash plate drive with an oscillating piston (12) in a high pressure pump and is made of plastics material. The piston may have a metal core (17), connected to the head section (14). The core is enclosed by a jacket (19) of plastics, and both together form the working part (18) of the piston. The core has a circular cylinder shape. The jacket has a thickness of 0,5 to 10 mm, esp. 1 to 5 mm, and it also covers the end face (20) of the core.
